    KO’d

Best wishes to the referee, hopefully a quick recovery but this isn’t something you see every day.

    PGMOL

The Times are reporting that Kevin Friend has now retired. With only one SG2 referee promoted and 4 lost, SG1 seems very light. Could we see other referees promoted to SG1 before the season starts if not how do you think PGMOL will go about their referee shortage?

    Big Crowds

Having just watched the recent RefSix vlog, I was wondering how the higher level referees among us find refereeing in front of big crowds. Near me Macclesfield are in the Step 5 league (NWCFL), and have had crowds over 4000 on a number of occasions. How hard is it for a Level 4 to go from crowds...

    Frankfurt vs West Ham

Didn’t watch the game and I’ve only seen the red card, and I was suprised that the referee had to go to VAR to make the call. But Declan Rice wasn’t too happy, fine or possibly a ban incoming?

    West Ham vs Arsenal

Unsure about this, if Ramsdale makes contact he’s walking but he makes no contact and Bowen is booked for diving which I feel is a bit harsh

    City vs Real

A few hours early for the game. But just seen that the referee on tonight’s game also had the first leg of the City vs Atletico tie. Seems a bit strange for him to have the same team in successive rounds, so late on in the tournament, or is this normal?

    Merseyside Derby

Some talking points attached: Can't find a video of the Richarlison "kick"

    Whole Game

Had 2 players sent off today for calling each other fagg0ts, making it 3 times in the last 2 games the f word has been used. Just wondering as they called it each other at the same time, do I just write one report or do I need to write two different reports?

    Manager Interferes in Play

Not often you see this happen. I've heard it being discussed at an RA meeting, but I've never seen it happen before. Anyone experienced this kind of thing in one of their games?

    Man City vs Liverpool

Pretty quiet game refereeing wise. Maybe Thiago was lucky not to see yellow for his first offence and the still from Fabinho's yellow suggests it could have been red. MO in the middle for the rematch in the FA cup next week?

    WHU vs Lyon

    I’m not sure about this

    Whole Game

Submitting a red card, for OFFINABUS. When I add additional comments, I cannot see them when I return to view the comments that I have made. Any suggestions?

    Retirement

Mike Dean to retire? Commentator for the City game said it could be his last ever FA Cup game as he’s retiring at the end of the season. Wonder if Moss, Atkinson and the rest of the old guard will follow suit?

    PGMOL referees

Just seen a graphic of the birthplaces of (English) SG1 referees. Only 3 out 20 SG1 referees are from the South of England (all 3 from Bristol) and none of them are from London. Is it just a coincidence that there are only 3 from southern England but 6 from the northwest, or are there more...

    Everton vs City

Ermmmm, even as a city fan I thought that was handball. Tierney in the middle and Kavanagh on VAR again...

    Brentford vs Newcastle

Just seen someone say this wasn't a red on the bbc live feed:confused:. Although it was originally given as a free kick against Newcastle.

    Covid

I have just been re-infected with Covid, however you no longer have to self-isolate in England (it's only advised). Was wondering if you had Covid, would you still be refereeing or would stay at home. Personally, I have made both teams aware of the situation and if they don't feel comfartable...
