Promotions - Season Ending 2024

I've just received my email confirming attendance to the selection event in 2 weeks for 3W / 3W-2W. Can anyone who's done one of these before tell me what to expect in terms of the practical session and/or the theoretical session? I assume there will be a LOTG test but what else will be involved? Fitness assessment passed last Sunday so that's out the way. Thank you :)

Question, does an invite to this being confirmed mean you've made 3w?

I don’t believe so. I’m still a 3W currently until the event where I will either be reclassified as a 3WAR, stay as a 3W or be put forward to the 2WAR pathway as well the selection to the 3W to 2W pathway.

Good to know, I'm awaiting confirmation from the county, would be rubbish if I went to the evening in a couple of weeks only to find out my observer score wasn't high enough!

Congratulations to all. There were many L4’s who struggled to get many middles last season, so this looks set to continue because this is a big list of promotees.
 
Much smaller promotion lists than this time last year at 4, 3 and 2b. Just looked back :

2b - 2a This year 3, last year 10
3 - 2b This year 10, last year 25
4 - 3 This year 33, last year 60

We'll never know how many reclassifications there have been at each level, but I think a fair guess would be they have been applied at least as rigorously this year as last. There is also the question at 3 of how many go each specialist route.

However, all things being equal, that would mean :

2b - net 8 fewer
3 - net 12 fewer

Not me, but I know a few at 3 and 2b who looked nailed on and have missed out - tough year so extra congrats to those who made it.
