    SE Dons Keeper

I reffed and lined SE Dons about 5 times before they changed league, a few times pre-COVID but mostly after, they weren't actually too much of an issue on the pitch as the Orpington and Bromley league tended to have a lot of players in the top division who played together or against each other...

    World Cup England vs Haiti

VAR protocol was correctly followed. The foul that should be a penalty was clear and obvious and so needs to be reviewed, however you have to let the referee make the decision on a foul in the APP if they have not seen it. The referee could still decide no foul on the first and then award a...

    Training kit (Level 3/4)

I’m hopeful we don’t, as I know that’s the plan but the national league badges at step 2 last year were a mid season change so who knows? I was mainly hoping as I wear both short and long sleeve to not have to buy a new badge for both and then be able to remove it for a county badge as required.

    Training kit (Level 3/4)

I asked when this was sent out and apparently the new badge will be applied to the kit. I was hoping it wouldn’t be to make all the badge changes easier as none of the badges cover each other properly.

    EURO 24 Belarus vs Israel

Because he wasn't officiating in the top flight when he moved here. This is a condition for a FIFA badge. Faghani also stayed on Iran's list as he was officiating in both countries top flights and has only been added to Australia's list since Iran dropped him.

    West Ham v AZ

Also there’s a few claims the ref put his whistle to his mouth (which he did) because he thought it was a foul on Paqueta, when actually in his “jump” he throws his arms up, handles the ball and then the referee plays an advantage which did benefit AZ Alkmaar. I mainly watched the second half...

    VAR - An Unconscious Bias?

There is a process to follow. When people skip steps because it’s “obvious” we get (more) mistakes. For example there was an incident in the FA Cup the other year where Sian Massey-Ellis didn’t flag what looked an obvious offside (according to commentary and stills from the broadcast angle) but...

    MAN U - ARS

Because an incorrect intervention is different from an incorrect decision. You can intervene wrongly even on a wrong decision if the criteria for intervention are not met, and a lot of people (including in this thread) said that was the case as it was a subjective foul that some would've given...

    Lemina Red Card

I believe this is going to be a big point of emphasis going forward. CORE refs have been made aware of putting in more reports and discipline for surrounding in recent sessions and while the FA hope it filters down, hopefully we see some actual guidance from the refereeing department soon.

    Cry Spurs

I don't necessarily think it would be a bad idea to discourage time wasting injuries, but I don't think it's very safe for the medical staff as the nature of football means where the game is being played can change very quickly, there's no real dead zones. Most rugby treatment on the field is...

    Midseason promotion

The marks can yes, any mid-season promotion is based on the previous calendar year's performances (so over two seasons) and any end of season is based on the previous season's performances. Each encompasses roughly 8-9 months of games, though given reclassifications will only occur at the end of...

TUN vs FRA Matchday 10 - Conger (NZL)

This is correct and allowed, per law 5.2: The issue is here in the first part (in italics) as Conger allows the kick-off. He's allowed play to restart and cannot go back and take VAR advice except as per Principle 10 of the VAR Protocol which is: This doesn't meet that principle unfortunately...

SPA vs GER Matchday 7 - Makkelie (NED)

The TV clock started on the actual kick-off, ref watch started when he blew and the players all went early.

BEL vs CAN Matchday 4 - Sikazwe (ZAM)

They have to think it’s clear and obvious to not give the penalty even if the ref didn’t see it. It’s not. They can’t advise a rewatch just in case.

    AR Fees (Professional)

Only the 4th. Televised games usually appoint a 2b as opposed to a 3 so because their standard match fee is higher they put the fourth’s fee up to compensate a bit more.
