    Fitness improvement

Hi all, Currently at the worst fitness level i've ever been. I do Saturday afternoon/Sunday morning games but do very little in the week due to work and family. I can easily cover 7-9kms a game, keep up with play pretty well but do catch myself breathing heavy a few times per game and...

    First 4w-3w promotion observation

I've got my first 4w-3w promotion observation this weekend, I've had a few coaching visits this season but have never had a "formal observation". Just wondering what to expect, and if there are any tips/bits to watch out for/easy stumbling blocks? All thoughts will be much appreciated.

    Expected competencies

I've looked through the assessment criteria for 7-6 and 6-5 (as this is most relevant to me) but I'm just curious what people would expect of a good or average referee at each level?

How long to reach the top?

I've been refereeing for about a year which is long enough for me to decide I want to go all the way. I'm curious how long it takes to reach each level and are there any tips and tricks I can use to get ahead of the game? Also I turn 16 in Jan so I'm planning on joining county league for middles...

    Club Marks

Just add a talk to the appointment secretary for my league and found out that my club marks were in the 70s. General at OA what club marks are good, and how much does it affect promotion?

Trying to get promoted this season from level 7 to level 6. New requirements?

I was looking at the new requirements for promotion to level 6. And they took out the fitness test: Compared to last year the requirements seem alot easier than beforehand. Ironically I was kinda looking forward ot fitness test as an excuse to finally improve my fitness. What are your thoughts...

    Thinking about going for promotion.

I've just finished my first season of refereeing and on the most part I've loved it. I'm only 15 so I won't be able to referee adult football until part way through next season but I think promotion is something I'd like to try for in the next few seasons. I'm expecting many people to tell me...

    Promotion Period

I completed my referee course in December and am absolutely loving refereeing. Having played for 20 years, it's a refreshing change. I would like to gain promotion to the next few levels fairly quickly but our County FA isn't particularly useful with its information. Obviously you have to...

    Promotion News

Has anyone heard anything about 7-6 and 6-5 promotions? The FA and county FAs seem to be radio silent. Games restart in two weeks, we need to know what is going on!

    Promotion to Level 6

I’ve just completed my 5 games and have been promoted to L7. I really want to get promoted to L6 as soon as I can, but feel like I need a few more games before I referee adult football (mainly down to nerves). I feel like a whole year is too long to wait, but I’m really unsure whether to apply...

    Getting promoted

Hi, I’m one game away from completing my 5 ‘assessed’ games before I get promoted to Level 7. I’m about to turn 18 and was wondering if there are any tips to help me get promoted through the ranks quickest. I see CORE is good for this, but I’m unsure on the ways referees get chosen for this...

    Fitness test preparation.

Evening all, I've applied to go from 5-4 this coming season, but unfortunately I recently failed the L4 fitness test on Wednesday. I was 300m short and I feel it was more physiological then it was physically. I feel I prepared poorly for this in terms of food I had, just general preparation...
