Mex v Eng

Early caution for Rice.
Harsh. The Mexican player dips his head to attempt to head a mid height ball that Rice has every right to go for with his foot.

If thats the bar, expect lots of cards.

Since that early ridiculous booking they've committed a few fouls, nothing major, but no cards.
But... one player drags england player back, free kick given. And then the Mexican throws his hands in absolute disgust its been given.
Massive signs of dissent by action.
And still no card.

I get the feel of France v Paraguay here with one sided officiating (cards wise).

When he went sprinting over to the Mexican player after the blatant act of dissent I felt the caution was inevitably going to follow. To not give one doesn’t look great IMO.
Other than that, he’s been fine so far but it looks like it has the potential to be a difficult 90+ minutes.

Has there been any cards for dissent at this world cup?

Rice misses the ball and makes contact with his studs at above waist height - that's nearly always going to be a caution regardless IMO.
Not disagreeing. Only mitigation id have is that the opponent ducks his head and puts self in to that position. But live, can understand why given.

Since we’re changing law etc because we feel like it, red card for that goalkeeper DOGSO please FIFA. 🙄

Here we go, penalty for a kick on the foot with no contact on the ball which don't get given in the PL(as it deemed too soft) but in Europe and elsewhere it is a penalty and I do think it's a pen.

Not C&O with high bar for VAR, minimum intervention
