Which league is that ?

I heard on a call contrib fees and mileage are both going up, but haven't seen to what yet.

Also see that FA Cup extra prelim is £65/£45 + 40p per mile this season, which unless my memory is playing me up is a significant uplift on last season

west yorkshire and northern counties pool (west yorks prem, northern counties east div 1 and prem)

@Yampy...any thoughts?

Fees have gone up for level 4s here in Cornwall. It's a flat fee with no mileage.
On the recent step3/4 Dial in it was said that the fees are going up. Not sure what to but also had no further Comms in respect of that either, yet.

Was £53/£34 last season, so I guess £65/£45 are the new contrib fees?

I would referee for free, just as I coach for free. It's a hobby and I enjoy it. I just did two days 8.30am to 4pm on a youth tournament at my club, didn't get paid, and thoroughly enjoyed myself.

I don't really enjoy being on the line. The fee is nowhere near enough to tempt me. I do it when I have to because the county pick me, or if I'm given a cup final.

I don't really understand why ARs get less. Their expenses are the same and the time spent is the same. I would happily give up my fee for a middle if it got me NARs.

Fees are going up @es1. Amount wasn’t mentioned because it wasn’t confirmed back in May. *Not sure on West Yorks Prem because of it’s Step 7 status

York League is putting its fees up to £35 (Prem games) £30 (other games) + 30p/mile.

Haven’t seen that email, no longer L4 having elected to go AR route.
Maybe there’s been some kick back from leagues but I got the impression that fees and mileage increases were required to battle the extra expense in living/travel costs

fair enough, for comparison west yorks (div 1 and below) is £40 flat fee

Somerset County League is now exactly those figures too. ;)

Did a Supply League friendly last night and they paid us £70/£40/£40. 👍

That's a lot of difference between the ref and the assistants.

Is the difference always that big? I can undertand a £20 difference but to be on nearly double seems unfair.

That's the same down our way.
Was the same in the n.west.
It's probably more apparent now that the fees are increasing, as the old fees were like 40ref 20ars which is your 20 quid and probably over looked the fact the ref gets double.
And why not? Ref makes significantly more decisions. Runs twice as far on average. Has to organise the game days before. Has to do the after game administration. In summary the ref works a lot harder over the timeframe.

I know the referee has admin to do after the game plus they makes the big decisions but for me the biggest factor is the time people are giving.

For me I think £60/£45/£45 would be fairer.

But we all have different views.
