The Ref Stop

Boots

I have to ask…. Is anyone using grip socks? Either full-sized grip socks or grip socks with a sock ‘sleeve?’ I’m tempted but didn’t know if it was frowned upon and something only players do!!

I use them but especially when on the line and I notice a difference on how easily I can turn, not so much when in the middle. I wear the Nike sleeves from Refstop (Use discount code in banner) and I love it.

Tried it for the first time this season and won't look back. Find it so much more comfortable, and less blisters. Not to mention that the toe area on the Nike socks is awful and only lasts a few months so this solves that problem

Have a look at Sokito boots. Italian made, lasted more than a season already, very light and comfortable. And nicely understated in all black. And they do a bit for the environment if you're that way inclined...

As for grip socks - definitely, with a sleeve. I cut off my old ones when they soles got holes in and now wear them with grip socks, which make the Sokitos even more comfortable and no holes in my socks!

For £175 a pop I'd want my boots to score goals for me as well as just get me around the pitch and last a while!
