Big question time…

What boots are we all wearing this season?

The last few years I’ve worn Nike Tiempos, but the time is coming to order new ones ready for next season…

What do you recommend or suggest avoiding?

The same ones from two seasons ago or the season before that. Adidas COPA, laceless. The comfiest ones I've had.

I’m tempted. But every time I’ve tried some on (granted; rushed and in shops) - they seem to fit SO small

How do you find they fit?

They are narrow fitting. But they eventually mould to your foot so I was having some issues early doors around the ankle, I had to put some padding in it but that has resolved itself.

My Asics Gel-Lethal 19's have come to the end of their life, and I will almost certainly be shelling out whatever I have to in order to get a new pair. Most comfortable boots I've ever had, and an absolute necessity for anyone with calf/achilles problems.

I'm a bit ocd and will always match my boots to the kit manufacturer. Nike Premiers for me again even if they only last about 18 months

This is USUALLY me, but I’ve always had the Nike Tiempos… yet to find a pair of Puma I can get on with!

Tried the Nike Premier's hated them, switched around October to Copa Mundials. I'll never go back now

33 years old and only just discovered I have been buying the wrong sized boots for all these years (which is why my toenails are always black!!).

It turns out different brands have different ideas for what a size 9 is, or what a size 8.5 is! It is only subtle but if you check the EU size too it can help with sizing - an 8 with Nike according to most conversion sites is actually a 7 with Puma, and an 8 with Nike is a 43 EU size - a size Adidas do not even do as their sizes are slightly different so can be a half smaller or larger either way so an 8 is actually a 43.33 - which can make a difference albeit subtle!!

To be fair, as someone who considers myself a size 9, at 35 years old I'm questioning whether I really am a size 9, because I seem to be having to size up 1/2 size more often than I don't these days.

Wait till your 66 and you now have to buy a full size more than you did when you were 40 and yes I have just bought some new Nike Premier size 9

Feet do get bigger even after you've stopped growing. The arch starts to flatten

Doing a heel lock with your laces can limit how much the foot slides in the boot.
