The Ref Stop

New LoTG - Injuries - Liking it!!

There is an exemption if it's an injured player that's being subbed off.

"The referee may decide not to apply the ten-second time limit, including when:

a player’s injury clearly prevents them from leaving the field within that time"
It's the fact that he was treated on-field, not that it took more than 10s to leave. Therefore the minute off the FOP is transferred to the sub coming on... No?
I'm thinking the same thing happened in the Prem already this season and it caused a stir then too. Can't recall the game
Anyway, maybe I got it wrong. I found it all a bit all over the place, but first game back so I was rusty. It feels like constantly raising one's profile when I prefer to stay anonymous if I possibly can

Afraid not. If the player injured goes off, then there’s no 10 second rule and no minute off after treatment for anyone.

Yeah it’s why I can’t see the 10 second rule really working long term. Any team slowing the game down with a lead will suddenly have an injury to everyone coming off. Surprised it hasn’t happened more so far!
If it was up to me I'll make the sub wait 2 minutes. 1 minute for the fake injury time wasting and another minute for taking more than ten seconds to co.e off the field. That's sure to stop it.

I don't think there's any scenario where the minute transfers to another player. They are independent issues.

I've found that the 1 minute is working and the injuries and physio coming on is much less. But then the players who are genuinely injured are almost paying the price for the sins of their fathers. It's a shame it has to come to this

Fair enough. That's my usual one mistake a season out the way
Flawless from now on
Bit concerned I was literally blowing out my arse yesterday however. First game back, canny hot for a northerner and both sides repeatedly launching it

@Big Cat to clarify, when I said ‘for anyone’ I didn’t mean if an entirely different player receives treatment for an unrelated issue at the same time, but I think you know what I meant

No this was.... player injured, on-field treatment, hobbled off, subbed straight off, immediate substitution...
or at least it should have been if I wasn't so busy
