    Coaches not knowing the LOTG

I get "but I won the ball", "that's a handball!! “ every game without fail. I also had one club lino tell me at the end of one game "oh, by the way, you don't show a yellow card for a sinbin", and before I could answer the manager came up to me, thanked me, and then turned to the club...

    Swearing

Is it only me that thinks any contradictions are down to "David Elleray's" replies possibly being ghost written?

Packing it in for a month

I agree with the last post. Referee a younger age group,or even ladies/girls football. Get back on the horse,or you may keep putting it off. You know you aren't a bad ref. It was just a bad game-and we all have those.

    Penalty shoot out

Ok,had a penalty shoot out with no neutral AR's. Decided not to use the club AR's help, but to stand near the edge of the goal area / 6 yard box where I could keep an eye on the goalie moving based on the noise of the kicker who I also watched on his run up. All going well until one penalty...

England v Spain - Womens Euros

Jonathan Pearce is an idiot who has no idea about the LOTG. On countless occasions I hear him spout some b@@@llocks about the laws. He just makes it up.

    Marriner moments Liv-Palace

OK. So a penalty would have been correct as assumed. Now let's assume the same element of play was in the middle of the park AND an advantage was clearly shown for each. Are my decisions below correct? Scenario 1) Coutinho is tripped, but he stays on his feet and makes a forward pass that...

    Marriner moments Liv-Palace

OK - I am a bit confused. Firstly I would have waited to see how the shot went and just given the penalty and not played advantage. My take is that if it was an advantage that was played (don't think Mariner signaled it as such - but let's take it as an advantage) and Coutinho went on to miss...

    Albania v Romania

That is ridiculous and makes a mockery of the laws I. I read that 20-25 seconds should be considered but this just makes it even harder to get any consistency. It nearly always takes longer to treat a player than it does to book them. Absolute farce

    Albania v Romania

Is the ref having a mare? Gave yellow for a challenge with studs about shoulder height. Red for me. Player received treatment then forced off the pitch... I thought this law had changed and if opposition player booked or sent off then he could stay on the pitch. Blatant foul throw that...

    Hector Moreno tackle

Definite penalty and yellow card. Roy Keane says it was a fair challenge so I know I am right.

    Clueless "pundits"

I still get annoyed by Sky Sports News when their vidiprinter says "Dave Smith Sent Off, Last Man" Idiots

    Junior/Youth Sarcasim = booking?

To me the key element is the type of game it is. If it was a competetive fixture I would book straight away. As it is a friendly I would call the player over, call his manager over and tell him that I will book him unless he subs him.

    Jumping for a header

There was an incident at the Wimbledon v Oxford game on Saturday. Two players jumped up for a ball. The Wimbledon defender was standing behind the Oxford forward. The ball was being played up to the forward from what I can remember. Either way the Wimbledon defender was behind the forward who...
