Thought that was a good input on VAR for the penalty decision.

Didn’t like that players were essentially allowed to crowd around the monitor!

Two fouls happening simultaneously. Why has VAR got involved? Surely that is refs call. He said no, carry on. There is no way you can determine who fouled who first as it all happened at the same time.

Then how on earth is United's goal not disallowed? Two handed push in the back that directly stopped the defender clearing the ball which led to the goal.
 
PGMOL refs really do need to learn that even a small push can knock someone forwards which if it has a direct consequence on the play should be punished with a foul. As the MOTD pundits say, if Yoro didn't push Bassey then Yoro may not of headed it and lead to a goal.

The Man United penalty is definitely a pen for me, do feel this might be a one off and it would not surprise me we see a similar incident next week not given.

Referees do not become PGMOL officials by not knowing what a small push can do, even if it might appear otherwise. I think what we are looking at here is whether the Fulham defender was just not strong enough in the first place & knowing this he then went to ground. However, had the United forward been penalised and therefore the goal ruled out, then I would not have had a problem with that. Also, playing Devils Advocate for a second, if the Fulham Manager doesn’t think that United’s penalty was a foul, then he shouldn’t be thinking United’s goal was a foul either.!!!

I agree with MOTD analysis, Shaw was fouling simultaneously so no need for VAR to get involved, for me the goal a clear foul, only reason for the two handed push was to gain a clear advantage.

However the VAR sees the push which impacts the defender ability to defend the ball and gives the United player a free header, as Jay Bothroyd says, even if it looks soft, it's still a foul. It had a major impact on that goal being scored.

Totally get why Fulham would be annoyed by that to be honest.
 
I don't think you can credibly give the penalty but then not penalise the push on Bassey for the goal, for me that was more of an obvious foul thank the holding on Mount. Feels to me that VAR should either stay out of both are recommend reviews for both.
