Bear with me on this one.....
Following on from the recent ‘mong’ debate, another word was mentioned as an automatic red card......’faggot’.
And I tend to agree.....at least I did until listening to Radio 2 this morning.
They played Fairytale of New York.....which contains the line ‘you scumbag you maggot you cheap lousy faggot’
Now normally any unacceptable words are replaced by a sound gap......however, to my knowledge, this song has never had that word censored......which begs the question, why?
And, if it’s acceptable on public broadcast radio, should it really be an automatic red on a football pitch?
