You didn't get the ball.

What has the world come to? U12 swearing at ref?

In the first half of my game today, reds had a penalty shout. I could see there was a tangle of legs somewhere but there were far too many players in the way and red player went down. I decided to wave it away.

Couple minutes later and the lad who went down is injured, so manager subs him off. Bearing in mind at this time I was close to the manager's touchline. Player then calls me sh*t, so by then I already knew I was sending for OFFINABUS. He kept saying the same thing 5 or 6 times. As I was explaining that he was being sent off the red coaches were asking why it wasn't a sin bin and I replied that I had no choice unfortunately, it's the LOTG. I was always told that if someone swears with a "you" in it = instantly off. Coaches finally accept as a parent shouts that it's "not about me" (i'm just doing my job). Ask for players name but he won't speak to me. Show the red and get on with the game.

2nd half, blue player is running through on goal however takes a touch towards the corner and gets tripped, hops and then falls in the box (nice try), give DFK and yellow for C1 tripping. Not DOGSO due to the player's direction, however there was no attempt to get the ball.

10 minutes from the end I accidentally pointed the wrong way after giving a pretty obvious free kick to blue team (and you'd assume everyone knows who it's for), then a parent shouts asking what i'm playing at. Have to then delay the game again to ask the red manager to get him to leave. The phrase I always use is "games not restarting until they're gone", that gets them to jog. Parent leaves pretty quickly.

Reds were also 3-1 down at this time and pulled it back to 3-4 with the last kick of the game. Think there was about 10 minutes added on across both halfs including a drinks break too.

Would like to know your thoughts on this.
Cheers

Edit just found out I'm reffing red team on Tuesday night. Will be an interesting one.

I don’t see anything wrong with what you did.
Calling you sh1t or a cheat is instant red for me at any age.

Sounds as though you handled it well.
I have mentioned on here before an Under-11 game my son (then 14) refereed. Player told him to "F*** off, ref" My son said "Shall we pretend I didn't hear that?"
Player "I told you to **** off"
Red card.

I coach a U12 team. Early this season one of my players gets sin-binned. I ask the ref what he's said/done for dissent (I didn't hear anything) and the ref says it's not for dissent. I tell him if it's not dissent it's not a sin-bin. Referee says OK and the player plays on.

Then one of their subs tells me what he's said - he's called a opposition player a fat c*nt. I sub him off and ask him if that's what he said, he confirms. That was his last game for us.

I wish all coaches took that approach! I was called similar in an U13 game and when the RC had been shown, the coaches tried to leave him on the pitch!

Jeez ! You know who's encouraging that behaviour then 🤦‍♂️
Exactly! That team folded recently and I noticed they'd had 3 consecutive games abandoned so I wonder if that was more of a punishment than a choice 🤷‍♂️

Good coaches tend to manage the parents too. Poor coaches encourage them to behave badly.

I don't manage the parents but I always have new kids play in a couple of friendlies before we allow them in and it's the parents' behaviour I'm watching rather than the kid's ability.
