Seeing that they have the cool new 3D line technology to view offside position decisions fairly instantly, I'm sure that the time to "check" this goal would have taken almost exactly the same amount of time in either case.
From what I saw, the 3d line didn't give a decision (like GLT). Its just a line you can superimpose on the screen. I am pretty sure a lot is still left to the operator, what camera feed to use, which frame, etc. I could be wrong though.

Perhaps it wasn't a big enough decision?
Precisely my point. Was it a big enough one, it would have taken more time.

But my point was more that the camera angle isn't required -- the software uses all of the angles, all the operator needs to do is find the frame where the ball is first touched on the pass/shot/whatever.

Does that, software shows not-offside-position, moves on to the next thing.
