Hi all.

New thread ;).

Does anyone use the latest version of Refsix on a Garmin watch with success. I've wasted about 4 hours over the past few days trying to get the bluetooth working between watch and phone. Having tried all sorts of remedies, in all sorts of combinations, I'm coming to the conclusion the app doesn't support Garmin properly; hence interested in others recent experience.

(Iphone 12 + Garmin Forerunner 165)... the Garmin running app works seamlessly between both

Hi marshr02,

I use RefSix on a Garmin Venu 3 and have an iPhone 14. I did have some teething issues when using this last season for a few games (especially when the app on the watch stopped running during a double header). No issues since, however I had to endure the Connect App was synched up first prior to syncing the RefSix App on the watch to have the matches sync up.

Do you get any particular error messages?

I use on a Garmin Music 245. Works flawlessly before the game. Doesn’t sync completed games at all. I’ve communicated with them. They’re very responsive to the initial concern but haven’t ever been able to fix the issue. I really love the app, and really don’t want an Apple Watch (I like buttons more than a screen. Especially sweaty). But it seems I am going to have to choose REFSIX or Apple Watch.

I’ve had a few issues - I contacted them and they said they think the issue is with the phone and the watch itself - try loading up the Connect app before you load REFSIX and afterwards - it forces the phone and watch to talk to each other again - has worked for me so far

Thanks for replies. Absolutely I've found loading up the refs app on the phone first helps. I've also found that once it get messed up the only way forward seems to be uninstalling/restarting/reinstalling the app on the phone. It's a great little app, but I'm a bit nervous relying on it given this so far. (The error message was Refsix NOT CONNECTED. Your phone is not connected. Please retry when your phone is Within Bluetooth range" )

Watch a game on TV / park and get some dress rehearsals in

Just to hijack this slightly... if I put a goal on the wrong team in error... is there any way to correct that?

(Short of awarding a penalty to the opposition and hoping they score and then you can put the goal down for the other team and 1-1 will be correct - thought I'd get there before @Archer)

I believe there is an undo button on the watch version if you hold it down as if you're going to end the half and it reverses the most recent input.

On Apple Watch:

From the default timer screen, press and hold. Click Match Log (top left). Click incident. Gives you a delete y/n option.

Finally got to bottom of it with Jon’s help. On the iPhone ensure the garmin watch is in connected mode by launching the garmin connect app. While that stays launched you open REFSIX on both phone and watch and the sync will work. Sometimes on the iPhone the garmin connect app is active in the background (not obviously open), sometimes it’s not which explains erratic sync. Just open the app to be sure and the sync is reliable.
