I have been reading over the course of the past few months that fans generally consider Referees in L2 to be poor - not that I believe anything a fan thinks since they generally wear rose dinted & biased glasses favouring the team they support. However, I have visited Notts County to see them play their Home games against Bristol Rovers with Ross Joyce in the middle and tonight’s Semi Final 2nd leg against Chesterfield with Thomas Parsons in charge (until he got injured with 10 mins plus stoppage time left & had to come off). Both were in full control of the game, always up with play & in credible positions to see everything that was going on. Both were also very calm & didn’t fall for player theatricals when going to ground too easily. They may have both missed a thing or two, but overall, top performances from both Referees who were under pressure from the magnitude of the game for both clubs.
