I was at this game Saturday. Please see the incident at 0.37.

The defender didn't even received a yellow card.

Attempted DOGSO both in and out of the PA.

Player scored but no card shown. Why?

Did the referee play advantage? If not then there's not a debate here. In his opinion a foul hasn't occurred. And you can bet if he thought there was he's have been coming in Mike Dean style..

If he did, and that's not apparent from the video, then strictly speaking, the offence would have been DOGSO and so a caution would be supported.

But to be honest I sit with Archer, in that no one expects or is asking for it and I think the better outcome is goal and kick off, no sanction

Because the ref let the game run and a goal was scored, I assume. I think I get your point, though. You see nasty tackles on the halfway line where the ref allows the advantage, then goes back to caution the defending player

I was a regular local referee for an academy that's main team bounces league 1 and 2. The academy manager one day after a game and told me I need to stop bailing his defenders out when they get out jostled/muscled. Even saying if it is unfair they need to learn. He was being super constructive and polite, but saying that they will get their shirts ripped to shreds weekly in League 1 and 2 and if they aren't ready they will be useless.

Went and watched a game that weekend, and every single play someone was getting their shirt ripped off.

For me the defender tries grabbing him twice and when that fails he trips him as he shoots.

Luckily he got the shot away and scores.

Interesting opinions.

Do people think the attacker was being constantly fouled or not?
I felt they were trifling. Attacker seemed to shrug everything off, and get away and in. It felt like a “ping” or pluck of the shirt than a full on tug. One of those and still breaking away, I’d expect a caution.

Unless the player has had a final warning for persistent infringement of course. Although I’d like a call for advantage to help sell that to be honest.

Agreed. That would be a card for RP or FT though, rather than SPA as advantage plays out.

In the OP, if the player goes down you are probably giving the foul and whatever comes from that be it DOGSO, SPA, pen, cards etc.

As they didn't go down and scored, I don't see a caution as necessary.
