Hopefully not. I’m the same and have the last run of kits. Potentially getting umbro next. I don’t like the look of the new Nike kit.Is it a pre-requisite to wear the Nike kit to referee in? Especially as you go further up the ladder?
I am going for promotion this year and I currently wear the Umbro kit. Will this subconsciously go against me when being coached etc?

I don’t believe so. I do think the Nike one looks better though.
I think there will be a year or two before the ‘old’ kit is phased out. I’ve spoken to a few who don’t like the new one.Certainly isn't a requirement, but if you are working in a team of 3 it can look a bit odd if one official has a totally different kit on. But equally the kit isn't provided free like it is in some countries, so no one can really expect officials to look identical.
Will be longer than that. I know one supply league official who still wears the Umbro kit with white collar from the early 2010s.I think there will be a year or two before the ‘old’ kit is phased out. I’ve spoken to a few who don’t like the new one.
Wow. Fair play for keeping it in condition for that long. I do remember that though. I did like the Umbro kits, always looked smart. Will be longer than that. I know one supply league official who still wears the Umbro kit with white collar from the early 2010s.
I found the new Referee II S Jersey on Direct Soccer, which I managed to order!Anyone know where I can buy the new Nike kit for next season ?
Low supply. Not sure on ref numbers but 5 years ago it was 28000. 100 kits for 28000 refs... I know not everyone wants one but just shows the lack of stock around.
Referee Store had 100 come in stock and sold out within 3 minutes. I’ve never known anything like this for ref kit. Is demand so high or just low supply?
The Umbro Wembley kit was 07-09 if I remember correctly, making it all the more impressive/skinflintish!Will be longer than that. I know one supply league official who still wears the Umbro kit with white collar from the early 2010s.
Lol. I still have mine too, also the Umbro Diamond kit which I trot out in from time to time. Will be longer than that. I know one supply league official who still wears the Umbro kit with white collar from the early 2010s.
Surely they are grey topped socks by now ... ?Lol. I still have mine too, also the Umbro Diamond kit which I trot out in from time to time.
I've seen referees and assistants (normally guys in their 60s+) last season still trotting out in the old RA kits complete with white-topped socks ...
I think I have worn a baselayer about 6 times in 5 years down here and that was rain protection rather than cold. Otherwise it short sleeve all the way.My only short sleeve shirt has done/will do 18 matches in 44 days. When I bought my kit 5 years ago I rarely used my only short sleeve but now I'm a southern softy and it's rather warm down here I need it every game atm. There's not many washes left in it.
These days you won't be criticised for wearing a black long sleeve base layer under your short sleeved shirt. That's a money saving exercise as you only need a short sleeved shirt. My only short sleeve shirt has done/will do 18 matches in 44 days. I remember being assessed (not observed) as an assistant and my youngest son on the other line was pulled up for his grey topped socks. I told the observer that unless he was going to buy him new ones he’d better let it go because I wasn’t buying any more! To be fair, he was (and still is) a decent assessor and my lad was a decent liner.Surely they are grey topped socks by now ... ?
