The way CanCan is going in, i get the impression he is less a new member "level 7" and more a new member "aggrieved player / coach / fan"

The Ref Stop
From this thread alone I can see where you've seen that, but he's been on here over a month on here and has just qualified. Probably very new to the objectivity we always have as referees.
And has never had the misfortune of being a development clip. 🙂

Debate the post, not the poster pls gang! Any concerns re: posters pls use the report button and we will monitor.

@cancan I see nothing so far to suggest anything reportable but be kind, you never know when you'll be on the YouTube 🫣

There but for the grace of God!

Finally got a VEO through yesterday from an U18s Cup Semi-Final a few weeks back and the one decision I thought I'd got wrong (missing SFP) I absolutely had and it's so obvious from the film. Long(ish) story - I thought it was SFP in real time, but working with NARs for only the third time I wanted to check with my AR (having done so previously for possible SFP by the other team a minute previously).

Watching the film, I should never have checked with the AR on either occasion because my angle was clearly the best one and should have stuck with my first instinct which was Reckless for the first challenge (which is what we decided) and SFP for the second. Big lesson learned but on another day, with another team, that clip could have been all over socials.

Have a good weekend

Two outcomes in seperate universes:
  1. Ref calls a goal and recognizes that the goalie touched the ball
  2. Ref calls a goal kick and doesn't recognizes the keeper's touch
  3. Or the ref doesn't recognize the keeper's touch and calls it a goal as he doesn't recognize the rule in place
  4. Or vice versa of 3

"Law". Hmmmm.

With regard to whether the keeper touched the throw in before the ball entering the goal:

What is the safe option here - goal awarded or goal kick?

Who gets the benefit of the doubt?
Has to be no goal unless you are sure there was a touch.

Think of it like ball over the line in goal/no goal situations. You need to be sure a legitimate goal has been scored. You can’t guess.

Totally agree.

Sometime though we have to guess and i think the "safe" option is no goal.
