Fouled Off The Pitch

Question with regarding sending off the physio, what should you do as the referee if the Physio walks off after issuing the red card? Would both teams have to agree to use the same physio or would you abandon the game as there isn't a qualified physio in the dugout?
As long as you inform the physio and the team manager he can stay there is not much else you can do.

Physio walking off can happen without you showing the red card. It's up to the teams to decide what to do. I have not refereed any games where having a physical is mandatory in the competition rules. Usually one of the other team officials 'acts' as the physio.

If it happens in my game, unless the team doesn't want to continue without their physio, I will keep going.

Many UK competitions have a "qualified medical person in attendance" rule, so in those cases the referee would need to check with both managers and the opposition physio if wishing to ask the opposition physio to cover.
If not agreed, abandon the game.
The club whose physio ceases to provide cover is then reported.

I suppose you could dismiss the physio and make them leave the FOP. Is it not the case as long as there is a qualified First Aider on the team officials list then the physio is just regarded as an extra one of those first aiders?

Only problem with this is some leagues specify the requirement to have them in the technical area.

Exactly this. My local league team sheets have a field for "physio" and I am expected to not start play if that field hasn't been completed.

Do I have any way of knowing if that named person is remotely qualified? No. Am I even really expected to check if the named person is actually physically there? I don't think so. But the league still needs me to be confident that the club have told me there is some sort of qualified medical person somewhere nearby.

You aren't warning the them. They are being sent off or reported for a send off offence. This is very different.
Ah, I’ve misunderstood previously then. I’ve not had the definition of team official correct in my head (thinking it was only managers and coaches that are team officials that can be cautioned/dismissed etc). After consulting the good book, it’s anyone ‘official’ listed on the team sheet.
At grass roots there may be others that end up in the technical area that aren’t listed on the team sheet; assume that sanctions for them would default to the manager/head coach in that instance?

No one should be in the technical area that's isn't named on the sheet.
In this case they are outside agents and can't be sanctioned, nor can the manager (there is the caveat as unable to identify which with some artistic license could open up the manager for a sanction)

The course of action here is for them to be removed and a report to the league for unauthorised technical area occupant and an ER to county to advise or misconduct occurring.and the circumstance of it and they would then (probably) charge the offending club
