Just seeing if I’m unique in this but being a level 7/4W and going for 3W I’m in a weird predicament with appointments.
To prepare myself for WNL and 3W I really need regional women’s games that are closer to the standard and often include NARs but it seems most appointment secretaries in my...
Those of you who have had to ask employers for flexibility, how did those conversations go?
If I get my 3w I will inevitably have to ask for some around midweeks so I can meet expectations for availability and don't really know how to approach it.
Had a feisty game a few weeks back where I had one NAR (which keeps happening) because the other NAR pulled out last minute.
One team was giving constant chat in my ear and eventually had a couple of sin bins.
Their benches and fans were no better.
So I wasn't massively impressed to see my...
I've worn rainbow laces, without issue, for years whilst officiating. I'm LGBT myself but it's mostly there for players and coaches who maybe aren't out to feel more comfortable raising concerns with me.
In fact I've had several moments where players or coaches have enquired about them and...
Making a thread for a game that almost always has a contentious moment
Only one from the first half, assume Lamptey’s contact on the ball was disregarded because Jesus basically kicks it against his leg?
I’ve got my first time as a fourth on a county cup final in a couple of weeks. I’ve read up all my duties etc but two things I’ve not really been able to ascertain:
1. Do I warm up with the other three officials?
2. What do I wear? I’ve seen fourths in trackers and jackets and Ive seen them in...
Had a cup semi final and observation yesterday. It’s my first time doing this league, I took the fixture because I’m short on observations and my RDO offered me an observer on this date if I could find a game.
It doesn’t start well, before KO I get a call to say both my NARs have been pulled...
When I'm running the line I try to match my tolerance to the Referee's as much as possible, including for dissent/offinabus.
Had a moment in a game yesterday, referee has a high tolerance for dissent and physicality compared to me (they are a 4, I'm a 7), so I have been matching that no...
Recently asked at a family event how much WSL and Women's Champ Refs are paid, realised I have no idea.
AR fees were as low as £60 not long ago for the WSL according to the Mirror, wondered what there were now?
Not professionalised yet are they?
A follow up to the thread I made about lack of observations.
My RDO has an observer free for a Saturday later this month. This is great but all the women’s leagues I can do play Sundays.
No issue, find Saturday league then? All the nearby ones (all two of them) have already appointed for...
Just seen this corker on Yes Ref, idk what Army FA fees are usually but £15 for a 90 minute match, I imagine at a decent tempo given their jobs, is shocking. Especially if you’re listing the game with 4 hours notice
Hi all
so that second observation I had that went badly has been classed as a matchday coaching under my 7-6, since it's not entirely fair that I couldn't score any marks for some of the aspects of a 4w-3w observation.
The worry I have now is I cannot get many games that meet the criteria...
Had a bit of a rough one with observation today.
4w-3w so 5-4 equivalent.
Sunday league match on a park pitch, so already I can’t really score much for controlling benches etc because it’s just a line of 30-40 people across both teams.
The game was called off and then back on so I was a...
Evening all
I’m in the market for a new top, one isn’t cutting it between doing more games and having the babies clothes and nappies taking up the machine most of the time.
Obviously want a badge for it but I’ve only got ~10 games left this season and I’m up for 2 promotions, one of which is...
Funny one in a game today and I can’t find any info on it.
Team A keeper has the ball in his hands whilst team B player is walking out of the box after a corner, slowly and in my view deliberately snaking his run to delay the keeper.
The keeper then deliberately kicks the ball from his hands...
I ref my Sunday league side from last season in a few weeks, first time ever. I only played about 4/5 games in goal for them, wasn’t really good enough for the Sunday league here. It’s small and full of very fit and strong army lads.
Wondering whether I tell the other team I used to play for...
Just did my LOTG quiz, happy to say I passed!
But whilst doing it on my phone it occurred to me that there’s nothing besides honour to prevent cheating?
As far as I know there’s no anti cheating monitoring in forms that exists
Funny one from the weekend.
U16 boys cup game, 2-0 to the home side and I’ve just let a few little contacts go during a phase of play when a home player falls into a seated position with his legs out and the ball ending up between his knees.
I’m about to blow for the foul that brought him...
