    This is a new one

I agree, I would be able to sell a caution for this... Striker knew exactly what he was doing and had it gone in, he would have demanded the goal stand

    How would you deal with

At a younger level yes I would be putting a stop to it... But for open age or u18s, for example, I'm not going to be making a rod for my own back Purely because you'll have a word with a player for swearing too much then 5 mins later a player from the other team are going to swear and cue the...

would anyone elsa have done it but...

My last ever Sunday legue game for a long time on Sunday due to joining the Royal Navy in January... Pitch was a bit chewed up and very muddy. U16s red v whites. The away manager whined and whined and whined that the pitch wasn't playable - home manager bitterly disagreed. The home manager went...

Best complaints you've ever recieved from an aggrieved team...

Sent a bloke away from the pitch yesterday... Blue v green U18s - blue player goes down injured, blue team have the ball. Manager is shouting put the ball out - blue player decides to keep going and plays a superb ball down the wing so I say fair enough play on... Ball goes for a corner and all...

    Mike Jones, Chelsea vs. Bournemouth

Even if that incident didn't happen, it would have still been the referees fault... Mourinho is forever blaming everyone else ! Also, with the way chelsea have treated referees in recent history (graham poll-mark clattenburgh to name a few) I find it hilarious when decisions don't go their way :-)

    Resigning from refereeing

Very sad to hear but I completely understand. I always said if my FA ever let me down over a serious incident like that I'd walk.

    What would happen if...

It winds me up - if they started handing out bans for diving the same way they do after a game if they see an elbow or a punch that was missed by the officials then it would soon stamp it out !

    What would happen if...

Yeah I thought that might be the case... But surely for situations like that the FA MUST step in and administer some kind of punishment for such blatant cheating !

Best complaints you've ever recieved from an aggrieved team...

Don't be silly @RegalRef all the scouts are there to watch their kids because they're clearly the next Ronaldo ! And the manager is blatantly on par with Mourinho. ... To be honest the way some parents go on they genuinely think their child is second to none. I hope one day when I'm all grown up...

    What would happen if...

I watched match of the day this morning and witnessed beteke blatantly dive trying to win a penalty.. The referee didn't give a Pena but didn't book Benteke either so he probably wasn't 100% However, my question is... What if as Beteke was being subbed and got to the dugout he openly admitted to...

    Remarks from Speactors

I think you do need glasses... The manager intervened and asked him to leave ?! Who are you kidding :-p

Best complaints you've ever recieved from an aggrieved team...

That's what annoys me more than anything - managers and players who don't know the rules !!! If it was up to me all managers would have to complete the referee course and referee 5-10 games at different age groups before they're allowed to qualify as a manger !

Best complaints you've ever recieved from an aggrieved team...

@mikedn - I had one a few seasons backs where this guy was pushed in a wheel chair from the carpark to the pitch side which was quite a trek ! Then about half way through the second half one of the opposing defenders handled on the line... He jumped from the wheel chair and began screaming for a...

The best ones are when someone sticks up for you and totally undermines the person accusing you of ****ing up !

Best complaints you've ever recieved from an aggrieved team...

I was inspired by a post a read recently and I'm not sure if this belongs on this particular forum section.... But I was curious as to the best/funniest complaints from a team you've ever received ? Mine personally was during my first season and home team beat the away team 15-1 - absolutely...

... And why is that ? @Brian Hamilton

    Junior/Youth mercy whistle...

I have to admit one particularly cold winter Sunday I called a game 15 mins early with a similar score to above... The ball went for a throw and both managers asked me to call it and I mercifully agreed.

Sort of became last weeks ref on Sunday...

Yeah I can see where you's are coming from and I actually didn't realise the FAs can be lenient - I assumed it was black and white - report goes in, club gets punished regardless. But if they're willing to be "nice" to the club involved that generally have a good reputation then next time I'll...

Sort of became last weeks ref on Sunday...

The team I reffed for on Sunday I've done many times and often do their home games and I would like to start by saying they are genuinely one of the best behaved teams I've had the pleasure to referee for - the managers are all really nice guys and the team are good as gold... Anyways, I got to...
