    Nose bleed

I am sane, or at least not alone in my thought processes!

    Nose bleed

This is almost verbatim what happened. Ball being contested in the midfield and the right back developed the bleed. I told him to leave and get seen to. Not involved in play and not likely to be. Finally stopped when exactly as you e side, the ball went to the goalkeeper. Then a full on...

    Nose bleed

A what would you do scenario. A player develops a spontaneous nosebleed - that is not caused by any action by a teammate or opponent nor the ball - while the ball is in play. They advise you of this. You acknowledge it and then…. What next? 1: Stop play for a “head injury” and restart...

    A "Thank You" to ARs

Nothing wrong with ambition! But don’t lose sight of the here-and-now. Putting in the work gets you ahead quicker than pure desire.

    A "Thank You" to ARs

Whilst this wasn’t me, it is the perfect description of what I aspire to be. Certainly my supply league recognises this as I get paired with those coming through, newbies and the young and the (very) ambitious. There’s little ego with me when I’m out with these guys and girls. I see my job as...

    Clattenburg leaves Forest

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/cg30l8em32no Decided to avoid the obvious puns in the title. However the standout comment for me is this; “It has also led to the unmerited targeting of me, personally, by certain participants and pundits," he said” There’s a real case of making a...

    Conflict Of Interest - Opinions

Irrespective of whether the referee in question was league appointed or asked by clubs to do so, under standard league rules he/she has the powers of referee for the duration of that fixture. It’s not uncommon at lower levels and in youth football especially for this to be a parent. The league...

    Personalised boots ref?

The first thing that stands out to me is, why is this even a story? Another nonsense, slow-news day social post by Match of the “Duh” like the “referee in shoes” thing from several season back. And secondly, a peeling E suggests the R -making his surname has come off already. Labelled boots...

A reminder; debate is healthy, disagreements accepted, and criticism should be constructive. Please don’t attack each other.

how to input Cards for JPL leauge, on whole game

Your best bet is to email the relevant County FA discipline department explaining you can’t find the details on the Whole Game System. They’ll advise the next steps. For a while we could still use the Excel forms to report and email to the CFA responsible but not sure these are accepted any more.

    Everton - Forest

They’re also claiming they never asked for his removal. Someone associated with Forest is telling lies.

    Everton - Forest

Sick and tired of all of this. FA needs to hammer Forest for this. Be better on the field and stop making excuses.

    FA Cup Replays Scrapped

Dissenting voice over here. I think this has been overstated. Replay, Exeter to Barrow or Gateshead on a Tuesday night. (Extreme example but feasible). All that expense of getting there eats the gate receipts from the tie. And. It on TV? Less cash anyway. How many ties between “mismatched”...

Open Age Tolerance for showing cards, first game as a trainee ref

You’ll find as we all have that there are so many “universal truths” that permeate the game, and many are actually incorrect. Sounds like you’ve had one of those today with the 2 feet argument. There’s a strong belief that 2 feet off the ground is always a red. A good rule of thumb (there...

    Howdy!

The flag is on the apex of goal line and touch line, making it as much a part of the playing area as the goal posts and crossbar are. It’s rare it’ll bounce back in, typically going over the goaline for a goal kick/corner or out for a throw.

    BHA ARS

I’ll take this one at face value. In these cases where player and ball are taken together or close together, the contact on the ball is more substantial than in the Lamptey situation. To paraphrase “it gets enough” of the ball to be a legitimate challenge. Not an expression I like, but the...

    WOL Vs WHU

Quite right - and I’m guilty of a typo which changed the context.

    WOL Vs WHU

The stills are rubbish for this. The Wolves player clearly walks backwards into Fabianski forcing him to step back as the cross comes in. That is clearly impacting his ability to make a save - he’s prevented from moving toward the ball.

    Level 4 - What Happens?

This was confirmed yesterday. Level 5s will continue to plug the gaps if there aren’t enough 4s (FA Competition weeks for example). Could sound the death knell for the Spartan fitness test too.
