Dundee v Livingston - rejected VAR review

I’m an outlier too, I am comfortable with a penalty, watching it a full speed, does the striker initiate the contact, I’m not sure?

    Anthony Taylor BBC Interview

I think Anthony Taylor comes across well & makes some very good points, very eloquently. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/c2dn9lkp0e5o

    Brentford vs Chelsea

It does seem inconsistent with this interpretation of offside last year? From 2.08 https://www.skysports.com/football/video/11095/13263406/brighton-1-1-southampton-premier-league-highlights

    City Vs Spurs

I don’t think we can say VAR is inconsistent, referees on this forum can’t agree on SPF, DOGSO, handball, no foul, football refereeing and decision making is so subjective, so it appears inconsistent.

    Fulham vs Utd

I agree with MOTD analysis, Shaw was fouling simultaneously so no need for VAR to get involved, for me the goal a clear foul, only reason for the two handed push was to gain a clear advantage.

    BOU v MUN

Was at the game, player & bench reaction, suggested yellow was fine. I feel the VAR intervention was unnecessary, nobody at the ground expected it. Peter Bankes didn't really take charge of the game, many of his decisions were delayed as if he someone was in his ear, which is why he may have...

    Arsenal vs Chelsea

Interesting, if advantage was played? (It wasn’t) Arsenal had two good opportunities to score, would VAR have then given them a third from the penalty spot if they deemed it hand ball?

    Automated offside

I guess we’ll have to get used to these given offside, I’m sure original law makers viewed offside as gaining an advantage, IMHO this forensic analysis just chalks goals & excitement off. (A non VAR enthusiast). Might we move to feet, then this would be given on-side, but probably only in...

    Liverpool vs Southampton

Good point, there is a slight touch, but the goal scorer is probably behind the ball? https://youtube.com/clip/Ugkx1KMXPconTf1oMlEYO-IWkEfP5FZIu2zv?si=CAksQyVM2mpYl0je

Man U v Arsenal wall controversy

AT getting pelters for his wall!

    Liverpool vs Southampton

Mike Dean not correct, goal scorer received ball from a throw in, no other player touched the ball. A prostrate player was lying in an offside position but didn’t touch the ball or interfere with an opponent.

    Liverpool vs Southampton

VAR took a long time to view this, I suspect if we ever hear the audio they were close to advising a red otherwise they would have quickly dismissed the check for SFP. Was a noticeable delay for the restart & Nunez was a worried man! 😟

    'In the back Ref!'

I would usually give pushes for two things 1. Extension of two hands (maybe a clear one hand) that extend towards the opposition player. 2. A deliberate push/nudge as the ball arrives at the attackers chest (albeit less inclined in the penalty area). Hope that makes sense.

Are the ref's audios recorded so could/would be presented as evidence to confirm what Slot actually said? Accept not to be released into the public domain.

    AFC Bournemouth vs Wolves

Here are the lines & a couple of stills which probably show offside was correct 🤷 https://youtube.com/clip/UgkxEnh4AFbhfs_rtlUzN-1BOymOxEGErrPx?si=kOy-Xvf0VMzKXnEn

    Crystal Palace vs Millwall

I think he needs a break, & said that after his family was threatened, he is only human. Most of us work & have time off from work too get completely away from the pressures of the job. Does a top PGMOL referee get any time off between July & May & even when they do would still be monitored...

    Bournemouth vs Wolves

I think could/should stayed without VAR intervention, the on field call was not a clear and obvious error. Not helped by bouncing off the ball so the contact was higher on the leg/shin. For that reason I believe yellow was better. I suspect/expect it will be overturned.

    Back pass law

Useful reminder on the back pass law, must be kicked, not just ‘deliberate’. An indirect free kick is awarded if a goalkeeper, inside their penalty area, commits any of the following offences: • controls the ball with the hand/arm for more than six seconds before releasing it •...

    Everton v Liverpool

I did watch the match but didn’t comment that you were wrong, I just had a different opinion on MO’s performance. Can an opinion be wrong or right? It is not easy refereeing a top EPL derby at the best of times, add in the recent disgrace of death threats to his family (2 year old daughter)...
