I’m not talking about a bar that’s been set by PGMO officials, I’m saying for anyone to think that is SFP it would set a very low bar, and then to suggest it’s so clearly and obviously SFP that a review should be recommended, your bar must be even lower.
If you think that’s SFP you must be seeing a lot of red cards in your games, and I say that as someone who’s had 3 reds in 5 games so far this season 🙈
My point is that the red card last season to Fernandes against Spurs would be on the lower end of ‘the bar’. Yet the officials still looked at that, VAR included, and said red card.

The officials looked at the MLS red card last season and decided red card. Again, fairly low bar.

So do you see how supporters see things like yesterday’s incident and almost expect a red card? They’re basing it on what they have seen previously.

Spot on.
Maybe that’s why I think it’s SFP. Not sure why the keeper jumped with his knee like that. He could have seriously hurt the player. It’s not careless or reckless…..it’s dangerous.

Be mindful of using terminology of ‘dangerous’ since in the Laws of the Game, dangerous = indirect free kick. However, we all know what you mean/where you are coming from (SFP). I think the fact that he withdrew his knee makes it less than an SFP.

It's a yellow card-level of force in the knee for me.

But it's also handball (he's making himself bigger) and ticks every DOGSO box, so easy missed red overall.

Second week and use of VAR is inconsistent. Surprise surprise.
I don’t think we can say VAR is inconsistent, referees on this forum can’t agree on SPF, DOGSO, handball, no foul, football refereeing and decision making is so subjective, so it appears inconsistent.

I don't think you can really say that his arm is in an unnatural position though.
I’ve just watched it on ref watch on sky.
I have to say, he spreads himself like he is inside the box so yes he is making himself bigger. So handball for me. Would a defender got back and hence not DOGSO?
The leg and knee up in is SFP for me. Not that it matters, but he knew what he was doing.

Umm, no. Playing in a dangerous manner without contact is an IFK offense. A tackle or challenge that “endangers an opponent” is defined SFP in Law 12. There was nothing wrong with the use of dangerous by Ori.

Exactly this. It would be excellent goalkeeping in the PA - he absolutely increases the chance of it hitting his arm.
