Great decision by coote to carry on the play after the challenge by bailey, not sure about the watkins one, should have been a booking for me

He waved the Bailey challenge away. So had Nunez not gone through, he wasn’t giving a free kick.

For the Watkins one, looks like he gave it for a handball by Watkins

I don't think it was a great decision at all TBH. DOGSO, but he's waving it off rather than signalling advantage. He's been saved from further scrutiny by the play ending in a goal.

Looks like he had no foul which seems very incorrect. He got lucky I think. An advantage + yellow card after would have been a moment of brilliant officiating.

Yeah it seems like he didnt give a yellow card to bailey, so not a great decision after all :/ Thought it was a nailed on challenge

thought at the time that this was what he had done

Coote got very luck that Nunes put the ball away, as he clearly wasn't going to give the free kick and had waved it away.

Also a very bizarre decision for the potential Villa penalty. It wasn't a penalty, but he gave a defensive free kick, can't have been for simulation as there was no caution, so absolutely no idea what he saw there. Certainly wasn't a foul by Watkins, and I can't see any possible reason for a defensive free kick.

Not stopping for offside there at 60' looks really poor from Coote. Your highly trained and skilled AR has confidently determined that a clear offside offense occurred that doesn't require a delay and yet you allow play to continue when there really wasn't a scoring chance.

Yes, can't understand why Bailey's DOGSO attempt, wasn't downgraded to a yellow, as he played advantage, unless I am reading the LOTG wrong?

I thought David Coote was all over the place in this game, random decision making and some that just defy all explanations. He doesn't get given top 6, or arguably top 4 games as tonight, very often, so I wonder if the additional pressure affected him.

putting all bias aside, I dont think I can remember a time where I was impressed by him when ive seen him referee. Doesnt help that he constantly looks nervous most of the time, and its probably why he cant quite break into the those top 4 games like you say, and then therefore struggles when he does finally get them

yeah going back and looking at subs theres defo something there in his right ear but surely 4th official or anyone else would have spotted it? surely. Major mistake otherwise
