Start of this season I learnt an important lesson when being abused on the line (dug-out side where most came from a manager) …..
If there’s an Assessor present than the bar is 'normal' / low.
If there’s no Assessor, then the bar is high.
Assessor Marks v. Club Marks 😊
Same for dissent gesturing - it's visible to everyone, no debate, it's plain and simple ... apply the laws!
Now he does two dissents in 2-seconds.
From one extreme to another.
I wear contact lenses to referee and can struggle to see the remaining time, particularly in rain, floodlights (it's a watch that vibrates, so not a big issue on knowing when times up).
My problem is the constant last 30-minutes requests of "how long is left?".
Can anyone recommend a simple...
Use them, like them.
Observations:-
• Relatively complex (compared to Yellow/Red
• No financial consequence
• Lack of understanding from players/managers/spectators
• Leads to time wasting
• 10-minutes of "how long left ref?"
• Simultaneous bins more complicated
Fingers crossed for a few more of this, it can only help. Perhaps random selection of player, but "surprises" like this are what's needed to shut down multiple players surrounding the referee.
Why as the defender would you "clear out" a player, paying no attention to the ball, giving away an obvious penalty; unless you felt you would stop a goal being scored?
The "problem" here is that an ifk 'rewards' the attacker by limiting the keepers choices of distribution. So to redress the balance, it should be a yellow card offence - after all it's very similar/ same type of offence as delaying a restart.
How does the "independent disciplinary" fit in Rusty and who are the members?
It sounds like an "arm's length" creation so that the FA can always say "wasn't our decision"?
