Qatar v Switzerland

Qatar Vs Switzerland.

Referee doing a long exaggerated penalty kick signal after the goalkeeper had been smashed in the head.

Looks clearly offside to the eye in the build-up

2 very tight offsides, looked a defensive back foot playing him on fir me...be nice to see the offside tech graphics...been 5 mins since the goal

Look at the assistants movement little energy wasted doing unnecessary crabbing, happy to walk when play is it other end. Have seen several FA seminar clips saying this is lazy.
Flag frequently in the 'wrong hand'

Top level ARs in other countries never place so much emphasis on the things we consider to be essential here like crabbing

This is a subject (ARs) I am passionate about & whilst there are AR’s on the PL & EFL who seem not to put much energy in with their movement (but still in the right position) there are many who do, which includes some recent additions who are making their presence known very quickly from their ability with their movement. I have to say I have been at a few recent EFL games whereby the ARs who weren’t crabbing as much as I considered they should made some incorrect decisions with offside calls whereas the ones who did, made all correct calls.

Thats funny.
Refused to show the world the offside image in the Swiss game, but just shown the image if the goal in the Brazil game by Morocco that no one ever needed to see.
Why?

Wrong hand drives me nuts.

It might seem trivial but it’s so distracting. If I see a flag in the wrong hand I think the AR is about to signal. For me it’s someone trying to look cool when they could just do the job!

Some really good discussions with 15,16,17 year old officials recently about this.

I think the U.S. is in accord with the UK on a lot of the AR stuff. But much of the world doesn’t seem to be as focussed on many of the AR mechanics, including things like there being a proper hand for the flag. I’m a million levels below anyone at the WC, but that is pure instinct for me.

I've seen some countries seem to switch flag to right-hand when they're between goal line and 18-yard line.
