Would it be an error in law? - the LOTG state:
The fourth official indicates the minimum additional time decided by the referee at the end of the final minute of each half. The additional time may be increased by the referee but not reduced.
I concede.

Though (in my scenario) technically the error 'in law' would be by the 4O and not the referee.

Yes when looked at that way, but in the circs could also be looked at in that they were in the time period of that minute viz I can’t remember the actual stoppage time shown but let’s say 9 mins - they were in the 9th min & had passed the 8th min - so could say not reduced (I appreciate I am stretching it a tad), but we are only talking a matter of seconds and wouldn’t have affected the result in any shape or form even if Herts scored another goal.
