The Ref Stop
Moved this as I feel it deserves more attention than it would have got in its original location.

Disgraceful act and a prison sentence should be awaiting him.

worth noting that this isn’t even Sunday league as presumed by many… it’s semi professional football

What doesn’t sit right with me is the amount of VC sending offs there are without police intervention. It feels like if the referee spotted this and sent him off, it might not have received the same social media traction and result in police involvement.

I know of a player who received a five year ban for violent conduct. Is there a maximum length of time a player could be banned?

I don't know what the Welsh FA's regulations are like, but in England there is no maximum and a participant can be banned for life.
I hope a criminal charge is brought in this case.

Any player at the receiving end of VC can refer the issue to the police, but if the incident is seen on-line & especially when it goes viral as in this case, then the police are likely to intervene anyway. It does help, but not a 100% requirement if at least one of the officials identifies the incident, especially at grass roots when it is less likely but not impossible for the incident to be captured on camera. I had an incident very many years ago in a double header when a defender head-butted an opponent in the first game which I saw & sent him off (but I could not prevent him playing in the 2nd game because not been dealt with by the FA etc) - there were no issues. However, the offended player who had his nose broken took the matter to the police & within a few days they were at my house to take a statement (I knew the policeman who was also a Referee). The matter went to court whereby I was a witness for the prosecution & also a character witness for the defendant saying that he caused no problems during the 2nd game. He received a suspended sentence, ordered to pay costs & £50 compensation to the offended opponent.

Must have been a cheap nose 🤣
Or so long ago that prices have since risen. My view at the time was that it was nothing like the incident from a few days ago & that I didn’t much see wrong with the players nose at the time & continued to play in both games, but at the end of the day, a head butt/VC is exactly that. Strangely, 5-7 years ago the head butting defender arrived at my door and turned out to be my builder sub-contracted by the firm we employed to undertake work on our conservatory. He recognised me straight away, but I had no idea it was him - thank goodness I provided him with some mitigation. 😂

Word on the street is that his club have terminated his contract. I hope the scrote does prison time.

I've said it before on other threads that if a person is prone to behave like that during a public sporting occasion then what on Earth must they be like outside football ie. in the pub or at home(?)

This is everything that is wrong in football. I know as a referee I’d be gutted if I missed this, but good to see that it had gone above football. This is vile, cowardly and has no place in our sport!
