Just watched the sending off of Lucas Paquetá, with 2 yellow cards. And then the sarcastic clapping off the decision.

If this was a grassroots match, a second report would be going in and an extra ban issued.

So, I hope the FA stand by their respect campaign and add another match to his automatic 1 match ban.

And he wasn’t even involved in the offence the Referee penalised. Crazy especially since just back from a suspension. It’s a case of him having learnt nothing and can’t control himself or his emotions.

Very poor from Jarrod Bowen too, seems intent on making his own point to the referee when he was being asked to sort out Paquetá.

Absolute petulance of the highest order. Even the opposition players were trying to talk him out of getting a red card, but still he carried on. If I was Nuno I would be chucking a very heavy book at him.

1. I'm very worried how much abuse the referee was willing to take before issueing a 2nd caution.
2. If I were a Hammer I'd be so mad at the THREE West Ham players who did absolutely FA to get their player (who had clearly lost his head) away from the referee.

This is the definition of self entitlement. Not taking accountability but blaming others for your own wrongdoings. If you know you need support as is evident by this post, don't wait for someone to offer it to you, seek it. I am sure there are multiple channels available to him and money shouldn't be an issue.

Quite common when the wrong player is chosen as the captain. Unfortunately most referee face this situation. I am giving you an opportunity to sort out this issue with your team/player. If you want to use the opportunity to complain then the next sanction is as much on you as is with the player who gets it.

I only saw the short highlights for this and at first it looked to me a very harsh dissent yellow especially at and EPL game. Then looking at the longer highlights the referee's (DE I think) body language explained it. He had multiple displays of low level dissent as shown by the point of the finger to different areas of the field. Basically he had seen enough. I don't think anyone would disagree with the second yellow. He was left with no option.

He's also barking up the wrong tree. By federation I'm pretty sure he means the FA, but they are the organisation bringing the charge so they can't support him. If anything he should be aiming his barbs at West Ham and the PFA, they are the ones that should be supporting him. He wasn't found not guilty of the spot fixing charges, rather the case was found not proven. If I was a player who has recently as 4 months ago had been facing a possible life time ban I certainly wouldn't be performing actions that could easily be construed as deliberately getting sent off. Not suggesting there was any wrong doing, but even the most ardent of West Ham fan couldn't suggest that he wasn't effectively demanding that Darren England sent him off.

Agree on the captain, but probably for a slightly different reason. I think Bowen is generally good with the referees, sometimes players are captains just because they are the best player and they can't deal with referees. For Bowen he is undoubtedly the best player, but I don't think he has the leadership skills, a stronger leader would have been dragging Paqueta away, much like the opposition keeper was trying to do.

West Ham fan and 100% the correct decision - was listening on 5 Live and they called it a good minute or two before the referee decided he'd had enough.

If this was a grassroots match, you are right that a second report would be going in but in my experience there'll be no additional ban. Had one earlier this season where I was issuing a Sin Bin YC for dissent, and during the process the player loudly proclaims "You're the worst ****ing referee in the world." Now, that may well be true but out came the RC for OFFINABUS. Player starts walking off then decides to walk back toward me a scream at me that I'm a "F***ing C***". EA goes in, subsequently find out the player received a two match suspension.

Then we wonder why it never stops.
