The Ref Stop
Never noticed this at the time but there seems to be a date error on the email we got sent about assessment days, which says they’ll be week commencing 26th May but then proceeds to say that the L4 one is on Tuesday 21st May, which is not only not wc 26th May, it’s also not a Tuesday.

But either way, I’d expect once this weekend of playoffs is out the way, they’ll look to start confirming things / sending assessment day invites out.
I’d expect those invited to hear some time wc 12th May (although I am only guessing)

Date was corrected on a follow up email - the selection day is Tuesday 27th May

Sorry to jump of this thread.

If you are going from level 5 to Level 4, do you have to attend an assessment day?

No, you'll have hit the criteria via your county FA during the season. They then nominate you to the national FA and they select the referees to promote based on numbers needed

i;m going to finish 5 games short of my 6 to 5 criteria. I've already confirmed with CFA that i can complete these in the first month of next season. Does anyone know, will this mean that i can still go for 5 to 4 in the 25/26 season, or will i have to wait until Jan to go for it annually across 2026? I dont want to pest him with another email so quickly asking more questions ha.

You will have to wait until Jan as I understand it.

Anyone heard of any provisional dates for Warwick for successful L4 candidates?

Getting pestered by the wife to sort June out but with a potential weekend in Warwick and the Fitness Test all on hold currently

As others have said, not an assessment day but for those whose nominations are accepted, an induction day. Worth not stuffing up on that day though, as there's always the chance that they might change their mind!

Back in September you asked on here whether mid-season 5>4 promotions were continuing
@lincs22 replied: "Yes, it was confirmed on an observer update meeting last week. There are still a few eligible candidates, but no new candidates for 24/25 onwards"
If that is still the case, that will affect @ICan'tSpeyk for next season. A call to the RDO may be a good idea.

Having been out of the loop for a while, any idea where the end of season process is up to with :
- communicating automatic promotions and reclassifications
- assessment days
- publishing final merit tables
- announcing promotions
.... as June fast approaches ?

Assessment days are happening this week (L3-L2 was today)
Led to believe those being reclassified and automatically promoted have been advised.
Would imagine promotions and final merit table positions will be confirmed next week

Reclassification emails have already gone out at level 3 as far as I know. So safe to assume at L3 if you haven't had an email you are retained.
The criteria are pretty clear as well based on position in the Annual Review tables, so should be evident from what was sent yesterday.

As ever, the margins are tight, we all know there is a degree of luck involved and there will be good officials who have ended the wrong side of the line. As we gear up to rightly congratulate those who have been promoted, looking out for any colleagues who find themselves in that position would be just as appreciated

I know it's easy to say when you are safe, but I hope if that has happened to anyone they can bounce back. Many have, including at least one I know of who is now on the Football League.
