As far as the LotG are concerned, this is not a deliberate play:

*‘Deliberate play’ (excluding deliberate handball) is when a player has control of the ball with the possibility of:

- passing the ball to a team-mate;
- gaining possession of the ball; or
- clearing the ball (e.g. by kicking or heading it)

If the pass, attempt to gain possession or clearance by the player in control of the ball is inaccurate or unsuccessful, this does not negate the fact that the player ‘deliberately played’ the ball.

The following criteria should be used, as appropriate, as indicators that a player was in control of the ball and, as a result, can be considered to have ‘deliberately played’ the ball:

- The ball travelled from distance and the player had a clear view of it
- The ball was not moving quickly
- The direction of the ball was not unexpected
- The player had time to coordinate their body movement, i.e. it was not a case of instinctive stretching or jumping, or a movement that achieved limited contact/control
- A ball moving on the ground is easier to play than a ball in the air

As much as everyone in the game wants this given offside,
I'm sure I watched a video on IFAB website saying this type of thing was a goal.

Simplest way to thing about it and how a lot of the PGMOL are trained; would you have given a back pass for it? If not, it’s not a deliberate play.

That’s seems strange when a deliberate touch could be a header or knee etc not disputing what you say

It's a one off this season, was done last season as well, and has red removed to symbolise the fight against knife crime. Although again The FA forced them to have the red FA Cup logo on it.

The number is pretty hard to identify. The trace of the numbers is hard to spot. Extremely hard to spot. Almost seems like there was no number in the first place. Could at least added a more thick outline.

The offside isn’t really even a debate… that’s not a deliberate play in law and it’s offside.

The penalty was probably a mistake for me.

I can see why the referee gave it from his being angle. I probably wouldn't give it seeing replays.

Do you think it's a foul or just not a caution?

For me it's a fairly routine caution once the foul is give.

I think it's a foul. A very small amount of contact that made it a foul/trip. But for me it does not fit the definition of reckless. I don't think it was SPA from memory.

I'd like to see the EPL stats on second hlaf sliding tackle fouls that become caution. I'd imagine it'd be very very high. Siding tackles can be careless but not reckless.
