Man City V Tottenham (20/04)

The Referee Store
If that lot win there will be a week long bus parade. Every male born in Liverpool will be names Jurgen or Virgil. It will instantly be the best league title victory in the history of football. Good Lord it will be insufferable.

Come on City, do it for the rest of the football watching UK!!

I take exception to that...most new born males in liverpool are evertonians 😉

Looked a pen even at match speed! Pretty dumbfounded that it wasn’t given! Will be next season!

I’m not so sure TBH. If you’re referring to Kyle walker, his arm is by his side. Even next season, it isn’t outside of a natural silhouette and it wasn’t deliberate. Where else is he meant to put his arm? But that’s opinions. Also thought Sterling was lucky to stay on the pitch. DRP on a free kick and could have been 2 separate AA cautions?

Sterling was a man possessed today, delayed quite a few restarts and got shirty handbags a few times... chill ye beans son! Could have easily walked

Penalty, yes
Kit clash, yes
Handball, now no, world cup VAR yes, next season VAR no (saved by proximity, unexpected ball and silhouette, even though there’s a hint if hand to ball)

Yours, an outdoor screen, in the sun

I think if random me watching on tv, and a pundit typing text for the world to see, has an issue with the kit, then its ridiculous to say there is totally no problem with the kit

Spurs white would have been worse, yes. That does not mean todays kit was ideal !! There should, esp at that level, be no chance of a clash at all !!!!!

It was only a possible problem because of the sunlight, and even then I don't think it actually was a problem. OK, perhaps there wasn't the best of contrast but light blue vs green looked pretty distinct to me. That was Spurs third kit, and their first kit of white and away kit of blue would have been worse, so I'm kind of struggling to see any alternatives here.

I'm not having a kit clash here, they aren't even vaguely close. It would have actually been worse had Spurs been in their normal white shirts.
You weren't there. Whether it explains all the City players passing to Spurs players is another matter but I'd imagine for the AR looking into the sun it could have been tricky.

I once was AR when there was a bit of a clash. We and the captains said we'd cope. The home team went 1-0 up and at half-time their manager stormed over complaining about the clash and - wait for it - he said "I've put it on Twitter"!

Spurs in white and City in blue hasn't been a problem since the end of watching black and white TV. As in, "For those of you with black and white sets, Liverpool are in their usual red...."

Yes, looking into the sun dowm the pitch it was really hard to tell the teams apart.

the kits are visually very different so you'd not assume a clash, but in reality that a not how it worked.

The above is correct

the game is not played on paper.

its played in real life conditions and nothing is set in stone
