And this advice is exactly why the game is behind the times and tutor's need to update their approach.
The right communication is essential to build an on field relationship between you and the players.
Far too many referees just turn up and start blowing and booking without any talking.
A good tip is to try and sort out the match fee upon arrival. This way if anything kicks off during the game there's no uncomfortable exchange to be had at the end of the match.
Bottom line is that part of our job is to preserve the safety of the players.
I wouldn't want to be the referee that has to explain to my FA why I let play continue until the ball went out if it turned out that the player needed hospital treatment.
Sorry to disagree with you but it's a kids game and although you may be a qualified referee you are unlikely to be a qualified medic and if you are you probably can't assess the level of any injury from a simple glance so should have stopped play to have the kid attend too.
If you had done this...
As I said in a game a few weeks ago......I'm here to keep the time, keep the score, keep everyone safe and enforce the LOTG as set out by FIFA and the FA.
Tends to defuse things like the OP!
Reds vs Maroon. Maroon awarded free kick 10 yards from the left side of the penalty area. All player's take up position level with the penalty spot.
Ref blows whistle and Reds push out to edge of the area leaving 3 Maroons in.
Ball struck at goal and all three Maroon's start to move towards...
Shocking!
There's been a few managers I'd loved to have flattened over the years but I've always remained professional.
Difference between the two are we as referees don't act in a way that provokes such a reaction......some managers on the other hand......
Agree entirely with top man in the pariah.
At any age below under 16 it is a matter of child Welfare and nothing else.
You have to ask yourself who benefits from continuing, are all the player's happy?
I'm happy to admit that I've abandoned due to the cold and the effects on the player's.
It was one of those funny things....the defender was shaping up to hurl the ball up to the half way line in the opposite direction of the returning attacker, so at this point it didn't look like it would make a difference to the game. Last second he switches and throws inside. No way he saw...
Pitches up our way were closed this weekend so I was asked to do a in house friendly on an all weather.
Anyway Reds vs Green and ball goes out for a throw to reds level with the edge of their own penalty area.
Being sporting the Green who it came off, followed the ball to retrieve it and threw...
And there in lies the problem with kits that feature black prominently, but are not 'all black' as prohibited by local FA's.
Locally we have teams who use the Inter & Meelan kit templates offered by many suppliers, all of them have solid black backs which causes problems.
The sooner the FA...
I called one 2 seasons back as the cross bar had been swung on to the extent the taller players could easily have collided with it without the need to jump.

Diamond Sports leather bound one is the best quality on the market. As it's leather, it is tough as old boots down the middle where in my experience cheaper wallets always split!
Happened at Preston vs Tranmere a season or so back.
That's the highest level I've seen it at so take heart in the fact that even with that level of experience it can happen.
It's been trialled at the Under 17's World Cup and also featured in the South American equivalent of the Champions League.
The product has had FIFA approval for about 12 months now.
Absolutely change the decision.
You only serve to make yourself look daft and feed the myth of the arrogant 'I know better than you' ref that never drops a clangger and never gets any respect.
We're only human and our talking during a match is not limited to telling players off.
