Vini jr sent off for pushing the keeper in the face.
Now, i do think it's justified. You run that risk.

But the keeper made an absolute meal out of it.
Vini should not have reacted but was pushed/slapped in the back just as gently as he pushed in the face by the keeper.
To me, both cautions and tell them to grow up.

No wiggle room with the laws for violent conduct. Anything more than negligible force in the face is 👋🏻

I haven't seen this specific incident so can only comment on as described
 
Keeper reaction buys the red card. But vinicius shouldn't do it.

Really think other sports deal with 'violent conduct' much better than we do.
 
It was bad behavior. Vini's slap on the keep's face was pretty intentional. It was a big outburst that was suited for a red card. The keeper seemed to be intimidating him at first with a pat on the back. Vini reacted and smashed the Valencia keep's face. I'm not sure whether it falls under "violent conduct", although it did seem very intentional and violent behavior.

You're not sure that smashing someone in the face falls under violent conduct? Please explain.

Well, I was a little unsure bc of how brutal it was. Like it was a bit overly aggressive, and he didn't actually try to beat up his face or actually punch the man. It was more of scrubbing his hand over the Valencia GK face. But I'm just confused about the classification because it OBVI its a red, but is there some other group it falls under? I'm just not sure.
 
This was only one person’s fault, and that was Vinicius Junior. Yes, the opponent milked it, but if you put your hands to an opponents face you can have zero complaints if you see red.
 
Vini had to be restrained by Rüdiger and the GK coach out of the stadium. Violent conduct is my decision for Vini pushing the Valencia keeper face. No other category to place it in.

In this instance, yes.
It is violent conduct and clearly missed by the referee as he had his back to it.
This is literally what VAR was brought in for.

However, that said, as much as it is VC, could AAA be an option for what is more handbags considering the keepers winding up of him first and the clear feign of injury to attract further attention to the situation.
 
It is very easy to sit here on our high horses as referees, but if we were professional players at the top level of the game I can guarantee that we would go down if we felt that contact in the face. Partly because it would have been coached into us from a very young age, but also if a player didn't go down and as a result there was no action taken they'd be castigated by their manager, team mates and supporters.
 
Is it 'violent' by the dictionary definition? No. Is it deliberately striking an opponent in the head using more than negligible force? Yes. So VAR 100% to recommend a review for a missed sending off offence. I'd hope the keeper got a caution for his part in the proceedings.
 
Incidents like this do make me think the laws require a slight re-write.

Is the incident particularly violent? Not really.

Is it negligible? Yes

Maybe ‘negligible off the ball contact’ would make more sense

I think we are on the same page. However to support this further, dictionary definition is irrelevant here is the lotg has its own definition. However if one makes the dictionary definition relevant, they also have to make it relevant that it is physical assault (however minor) by law of the lad definition.

I don't think the law was intended to just take violence out of the game. It is also to take 'thuggery' (for lack of a better word) out of the game. A kick out is an accepted red card even if it doesn't have a lot of force, for me this act is as bad if not worse.
 
I’m still an outlier & believe it is negligible force. More a push than a strike.

Anyone for caution GK for AA & second caution GK for simulation = Red.

BTW GK wasn't cautioned.

Other than when a mass con started when the ref went to view the screen for the first time.
