My two cents (admitting that we don’t use sin bins here: anyone that tells you not to use sin bins should immediately go on your list of people to ignore when they give advice. Not using sin bins means either deliberately misapplying the rules in ways that make others look bad or entirely ignoring dissent. Both of those are terrible results for the Game.

Congratulations for not being last weeks referee. If a player is old enough to use offensive/insulting or abusive language, they are old enough to learn the consequences.

I agree with this. @Josh the referee you dealt with this brilliantly by the sounds of things. I once sent a manager off and he said that I couldn't because it had never happened before. Response? "Well its happening now". You have just made the next ref's life 10 times easier.
