This is interesting. I think the first RC is absolutely nailed on. Second I had to slow down. I think it is more subjective. I feel that there was intent in the 2nd so I think a red seems credible - difficult to see from this angle.

Personally, think the referee did well (except for dropping his card on the floor).

Interesting I was the other way round.

1st a YC (but player had to leave the field on a stretcher!)
2nd, I would like to see the temperature of the match, was offender seeing red mist, getting even? I am thinking RC.

The Charlton player was keen to give the dropped red card back to the referee 🤣

Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder speaking to BBC Radio Sheffield about Japhet Tanganga's red card:

"It's just ridiculous - yellow at very best. [He's] committed to a header, gone for it, not gone to elbow the guy, just committed, eyes on the ball, mistimed it - it's a yellow.

"The referee couldn't wait to get his red card out. It was unbelievable how quickly he did it. No discussion with the fourth [official], no discussion with the linesman who was right alongside it.

"Second half, incredible amount of cynical fouls by them, which I get when we're trying to get back into the game.

"I fancied us 11 versus 10, maybe a little bit more difficult when it was down to nine. But we still had a go, I thought the shape of the team was great - the amount of effort that the boys put in was incredible."

The second red card is right for me. The speed and intensity he comes in at, is a factor especially when his arm is raised. On the highlights on ITV the reverse angle is telling too as the elbow is definitely locked and out as he goes flying though the challenge.

Chris Wilder looking for excuses but will know deep down his players have let him down.

The first one I think could have gone either way. But the second one he has come right through the attacker with a lot of force, absolute red card for me as that was incredibly dangerous and there was probably some intent in it.
