The Ref Stop
The message from the FAs I have been seeing is recruitment and retention is (relatively) in a good place.
OK. Probably just promoting their own cause. But in US refereeing is not very popular because of all the abuse that comes with it. Whether its baseball, football, soccer there is always that screeming from parents and coaches in the US. I guess in the UK the refs don't mind. But in US the organizations of cities were in disaster from the mass resignation of referees.

I think relatively, is the key word.

But when I went to recent promotion stuff and watching Howard Webb doing podcasts etc, the FAs message is UK Ref recruitment/retention is in a good place.

Do you think that is likely to be presented in such a way to not deflate current refs confidence?

Could be 🤷‍♂️. If they are really devoted to keeping ref numbers up. But I think its unlikely in my opinion. I don't see how it could deflate the refs confidence. It might just give them a sense of importance or urgency.
