edit: On second watch I’m conflicted, its hard to see how much of it was defender going into the attacker, and how much of it was him getting pulled into the collision

Hard to see how that isn’t six of one, half a dozen of the other. As opposed to the penalty challenge which is just the Hungary player running through the back of him. I think if we are choosing to punish either challenge then it must be a penalty.
 
And AR2 just flagged one way too early that might not have been.

This is not a good advert for the intercontinental exchange.

Never a penalty and offside anyway in my mind
 
Think Armstrong was offside and clarification on that would have been useful. But there is no doubt that at the same time he is kneed he is also pulling on the defender's shirt so there is no way VAR can intervene.
