Level 4 Referee
What does your pre-match warm-up look like as a level 4 referee? What stretches, exercises, and sprints do you usually do and how long does your warm-up last?"

The Ref Stop
I have to say 10-15mins - a mix of aerobic (jogging, then shuttles such as high knees, ankle flicks etc..) and static and dynamic stretching ("open the Gate" "hamstring walk etc".) Before hand its a bit of walking around the pitch to check nets etc..

15-20 mins.

Gentle Jog around pitch
Individual stretching
Shuttles x 12
Speed activation which consists of touchline to touchline jog to centre circle, sprint through centre circle jog to touchline and back 4 reps.
At 52 with tight hammies that’s my warm-up for any game at any level! 😭😂

Pre-match in general... including the warm-up... shuttles in particular... A price we have to pay to officiate in a game. I find it all a chore. Same as post-game hospitality
Oh aye, and then there's pre-match instruction... every ref putting their own tiny spin on the same patter just to find some trivial way of standing out from the crowd... zzzz
Without all that, officiating NLS football wouldn't have any downside. I don't mind a bit of travel, except for the faff of shared travel. Prolongs the day even more
I guess we have to aim to be there a long time before KO because we need contingency for delays so as not to be late.
