The Ref Stop

Persistent infringement or Foul tackle

Could you expand on what you mean by explaining that cards are part of the game? One thing I find difficult to get resources on are effective communication methods with players to maintain that mutual respect but also enforce the rules.
I sometimes use the following '10 Tips / Options" to give referees the best chance of delivering an overall outcome that is best for all:

1) Build rapport pre-match
2) Employ a 'winning smile'
3) Practice the 'Collina stare'
4) Quiet Word
5) Public Word
6) Involve the Captain
7) Yellow Card
8) Red Card
9) Threat of Abandonment
10) Abandonment

Only cos you usually need to employ all ten steps ;)

I don't normally get past number 3 because I have basically perfected it now 😂. I have always been told about my facial expressions to be honest.
