If you’re VAR are you recommending a review?

The Ref Stop
I’d like to offer a supplementary question:

If you’re active AR here, are you buzzing?

No. No. And @FirsFox40 no.

Expected contact at this level imo. Happy if you can detect it and call it on field but this for me falls under the higher threshold for contact in the penalty area.

Penalty. Impact on the play, no really intent to play the ball.
Stops him having a header from 4 yards out.

How have we got ourselves to a stage where this isn't an expected penalty kick?
There's nothing difficult to detect about it.
VAR never getting involved. Assistant can give input over comms.

I didn't know about this incident until this thread. Had that been a penalty kick and a DOGSO red card, I guarantee you I'd know about it. Read in to that what you will.

Was listening on the radio and Danny Mills was adamant it was a penalty kick.

Then again he'd probably have said it shouldn't be a pen if Pawson have given it.

No chance a DOGSO red would be given even if they viewed it as a foul.

Was it a foul ? Possibly ! Was it a clear and Obvious error ? Def not ! Play on.
I'm not saying he dived, but It doesn't help that strikers dive for everything these days. Back in the day, when players were honest, he might have got a pen for that.

The defender took a chance, but that's not even vaguely close enough to clear and obvious error for VAR to get involved.
