You cannot play advantage if the ball is not in play. Ball is not in play until it is "kicked directly out of penalty area".

... same for a foul throw that is thrown to the opposition or a free-kick taken from the wrong place that is intercepted by the opposition ...

Ball isn't in play - can't play advantage ... still makes it a hard sell sometimes though

@Supermonkey - My comment was in reference to the case of it being _outside_ the penalty area. I should've been clearer on that. My apologies.

Mike Dean was spot on. Advantage law isn't applicable due to the moment the ball touches Hart's second foot, it's a re-take. If you watch MOTD, they highlight Dean and he immediately drops arm and puts whistle to his mouth, before Austin gets the ball.
Had this exact incident happened outside of the penalty area, advantage WOULD have been applicable and the goal allowed!

Btw, Aguero's first goal should have been disallowed for offside. However, if you watch the highlights again, Dean is clearly in communication with somebody down the mic. Based on his body position, it appears he is talking directly to that assistant who, presumably was distracted and missed the offside
