But if the referee hasn't seen the behaviour in question, he can't exactly make a decision though, can he? Isn't VAR is allowed to advise the referee on things he hasn't seen?
The officiating team have clearly seen the behaviour though, John Brooks could hardly miss it given Klopp came right up in front of him. Even after a decision was made I don't see how VAR could get involved in this, as whether yellow or red is purely subjective and in the opinion of the referee.

I thought comms between VAR and the on-pitch officials was closed and only opened once VAR is informing them a check is in progress. If so I don't see how Tierney could ask for advice from VAR as the communications shouldn't be open at that point.
