The Ref Stop

Liverpool - Man City

Salah claims to be fouled just before 45th minute right in front of assistant. As he is "kicked" he starts to limp as if his leg is really hurt.
No flag from asst or whistle from ref and he then puts leg down and goes full on mental at the asst. Clearly not that hurt then.
OK, he is seemingly having to put a boot back on. But the fact players act like he does pretending to be hurt when not is the reason why officials are second guessing challenges.
I though Kavannagh ref'd very well no complaints at all except that Salah was constantly being pulled back by the left back when trying to control the ball and he didn't get a single foul. It is just typical seeing Grealish come on and as soon as he falls over he gets a foul given for him. Salah played 94 mins w/o a single foul given for him and one point his shoe was stepped on and came off but that's just accidental so its ok I guess?

The Ref Stop
I have long since stopped being surprised at anything that doesn’t get cautioned for dissent in a professional game. . .
This is 100% a problem and players who choose to crowd around a referee should be cautioned. I thouht that only the captain could complain to the referee now?

I don’t disagree that it’s a problem. But the powers that be seem more interesting keeping 11 on the field than actually cutting down dissent. As long as that is true, professional referees are rewarded for thick skin rather than stopping dissent, which means that is what they are going to do. And I think that includes OFFINABUS by word being simply ignored. Remember Ronaldo screaming F you in the face of the R in the WC with no sanction at all?

Was only half-watching after a few Lilley’s Bee Stings (good god), but very surprised CK didn’t ping someone after the penalty award and just stood around the spot inviting defenders to have a moan.

That was just for the Euros and some other competitions, wasn't brought in for the Premier League.
