Law 5 Clarification

Hi all
Can I please clarify Law 5 just on the basis I may be understanding it wrong.

An outfield player is required to leave the FOP in an actual or suspected injury in ONE or MORE of the following.

Play is stopped because the player has an actual or suspected injury
• the referee has signalled for the medical staff to enter the field of play
• the referee has asked the player if they require on-field medical attention
and the player has requested it.

So from my reading of ONE or more of the following anytime I blow the whistle to stop playing if a player is down injured they're required to go off for1 minute? But I have been told this is actually only if treatment comes on whether the player has the treatment or not.
Because otherwise won't we see a repeat of play stopped for injury, run over check player who has magically got up and done a summersault and then there's no punishment per se?

Would appreciate some guidance if I've just been enforcing the law incorrectly
. Cheers

This has confused me as well. I've also read it as if I'm stopping the game, the player is going off regardless of whether treatment is given or not.

They are required to go off even if the player wasn't treated.
This wasn't always followed at the World Cup though.

Law 5 also says:
"and, where an injury results in play being stopped or the restart of play being delayed, the injured player must leave the field of play"

There are exceptions listed.

Yes but I was at a Suffolk FA pitch today and even county officers were telling me it's only if they require treatment whether they accept the treatment or not. But IFAB clearly states in that bullet pointing that it's one or more of those points, as said above for me if I've had to stop playing for an injury said team has lost their advantage and there's actually nothing wrong with them they should go off for 1 minute otherwise what was the point in changing the law? As I thought the whole point was to stop this going down feigning injury?

"An injured player may not be treated on the field of play and, where an injury results in play being stopped or the restart of play being delayed, the injured player must leave the field of play and may only re-enter one minute after play has restarted" unless one of the listed exceptions applies.

If you stop play for an injury then I'd suggest immediately waving the physio on, if somebody queries that's not protocol then site player safety.

I get this but I think he needs to be given the opportunity to leave and get treatment for themselves, thus not requiring a minute off.
