Hi,
Just wanted to see what everyone else thinks, I am going for Level 4 Promotion and started in January. My observation which was last year was a 70. Extremely boring last game of the season, nothing to write home about. This was seen as the "average" score. I have had 1 more observation since and scored 71.1 (Another painfully uneventful game) which means my average is 70.55

Just for my own knowledge, the expectation will still be 71 for the 4 with the new guidelines?

Good Luck to everyone this weekend!

I have had this conversation with my RDO a few times this season because while I should be fine with my 4 scores (I hope) if it is a min of 71 then I know a few on the annual pathway who are going to be very close unless they have a perfect game for their 4th observation. He has been back and forth with the FA and I think it will be 71.

But hey surely you can't have 2 more uneventful games to be observed on otherwise I need to know how many ladders you have walked under.

The nomination criteria surely can't change midway through?

I think it is likely to remain 70 for the annual to be nominated but potentially the FA may only look for 71 and over but being below that won't stop the CFA nominating you.

Leaving it late to get 2 observations in before Jan.

With promotion attempts increasingly spanning across two seasons, there will be more of these situations in future. Another example is those who started 7-6 last season (when there was no AR component) but will complete this season (where there is). In one sense it's 'moving the goalposts' but on the other, it's a relatively small price to pay for the extra flexibility and fluidity now inherent in the system.

As a 6-5 candidate the criteria changed for me with youth games. I went from needing 7 games to get my 25 middles to needing 11. I’m now only 3 short of getting the 25 so hasn’t been too much of a problem

Right now the neutrals are mentioned but it does say if you can't do it. So be it.

Had my 3rd today and 4th in 2 weeks! Hoping weather stays behaved

So are we saying 71 average over 4 observations is good? I'm currently at 71.62 after 3.
Averaging 71 is the bare minimum. Take a scenario where there are 10 people on 5-4 in your CFA and the FA only want to take 8 up to L4, if you've only averaged bang on 71 you are very unlikely to be promoted. Whereas if you have averaged over 72 you'd need to be very unlucky not to be taken.

Had a 70.43 from yesterday - another extremely poor game of football (2-7). Had 1 major development of using the step approach. Need a 72 next game so fingers crossed I get the game that allows this

Major development? Or minor?

What did you (alledgedly) do wrong?

70.43 is an odd score to get as well if using the step 3-6 form....it should only be possible to get multiples of 5... So 70.4, 70.425, 70.45 and so on depending on marks up and down and in which competencies.

Definitely try and not look for the right game. But take the game in front and make it a good game.

A 7-2 game definitely has a lot of end to end going on. A lot of opportunities potentially in that game.

Obviously a YHTBT, but room to make yourself look good.

I felt like I had a positive game - 7.3 miles covered and 1 dead on yellow. Managed a head injury and other injury. Also 2 advantages (1 led to a goal - however my “advantage” was quiet).

Also typo was a 70.42. 1 Major Development and 3 above standard expected.

That's probably 70.425 then, but the report is configured to 2 decimal places, whereas MoAS version is not. 👍🏻

What is your current average? Have you now completed all the online learning and the 5-4 seminar evening? I wasn’t aware that the 5-4 could be done over different seasons, does it depend on your CFA?”
