@RustyRef favorite individual has piped up to say how harsh Simon Hooper was for cautioning Arteta. He says the below, then later says Hooper was pedantic

“Well what he’s effectively done is his actions have delayed the restart, so it’s absolutely a nailed on yellow card.

He really needs to quit, previously he only contradicted himself in different articles, now he’s doing so in the space of a few paragraphs. Or more pertinently people should stop asking his opinions, he has no credibility or relevance and surely people asking his opinions can now see he is making himself look increasingly incompetent.

This is the problem; journalists want his to say such things. It means more clicks on their articles. Problem is, it then means people take it as gospel.

Why he bothered to comment here is beyond me

Agree, absolutely nothing to do with refereeing. If they now see him as a general football expert the world really is doomed.

All he needs to do now is comment on someone’s lack of fitness, the irony of all ironies, and he’s completed the perfect hat trick 😂

I think KH sees himself as a world football expert, but often he comes across as still being bitter about being replaced by Mike Riley (not that MR had anything to do with KH’s departure).

He was an abject failure as a manager, referees have spoken about that in terms of how cliques were allowed to develop. Yet he keeps trotting out the “in my day” line implying it was all great.

It’s akin to Boris Johnson doing an interview and accusing people of lying, the credibility would be and is zero.
