No, was in the process of releasing it. Spirit of the game play on.

I'd also, theoretically, allow the goalkeeper to be challenged when he's dropped it on the floor.

No, it isn't what the law was designed for, you'd just be making huge problems for yourself penalising that.

I wouldn't even think of it. Did he 'release' it or did he unintentionally drop it?

I am more interested in the background noise in the clip. What is it? Washing the dishes? Tradie fixing the pluming? We should have a competition for it .

I had one today… keeper was fouled had ball in his hands. I said ‘play from your hands keeper’ he then drops the ball on floor for free kick and picks it up when he realises I meant carry on.

Needless to say I didn’t give an indirect free kick against him
